The NSW State Government held a fundraiser to help those affected by the devastating earthquake in Sichuan province in China. With the help of the Australian Red Cross, the night was a true testament to the power of humanity across the globe. Event Buddies Australia was honoured by the chance to attend this distinguished fundraiser at Parliament House, hosted by The Honourable Morris Iemma MP, Premier of New South Wales and The Honourable Ian Macdonald MLC, Minster for Primary Industries, Minister for Energy, Minister for Mineral Resources and Minister for State Development. With heart warming speeches from the Premier, His Excellency Mr Zhang Junsai, Ambassador, the People’s Republic of China and Mr Robert Tickner, Secretary General, Australian Red Cross. Prior to the fundraiser, the Australian Government donated $2 million and the NSW Government has also donated $500,000. The night promised to represent the generosity of the guests. Additionally, the entertainment was beautifully organised with performances by a Chinese classical pianist, violinist and Mongolian dancers.
In an attempt to raise money and awareness for cancer stem cell research, we organise entertaining events and benefits in the presence of exquisite food, great company and live music from tribute artists to string quartets.
What better way to enjoy an evening for yourself with your friends and colleagues knowing that your money is going to a noble cause. Whether you prefer to attend a glittering gala evening, a fundraising night or simply a community social gathering you will be spoilt for choice on ways to make a difference.
